The CROWN Act, which stands for "Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair," is a law that bans race-based hair discrimination, which is the denial of employment and educational opportunities because of hair texture or protective hairstyles including braids, locs, twists or bantu knots. Twelve states have passed this law thus far.

Julie Branden AICI CIC had the pleasure of presenting The Crown Affair: I Am Not My Hair to over 650 certified international image consultants. This workshop shines a light on the stigma and discrimination of natural hair in the workplace and why.

The culture is changing, and inclusiveness/diversity is in demand. Learn about The Crown Act and how Appearance Standards affect your company's brand, your employees, and the community you serve.
